James & Clare: Ely Fair, Oklahoma City Photographers Visit Austin

So the first time I ever met James, Ryan had dropped me off at a gas station on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma, and I hopped in the car with James to go to a summer camp. It sounds like the beginning of a scary movie, for sure. Or at least a one of those lifetime ones that moms watch and then never let their children out of a 5 foot radius of them. Really, I don’t know why my mom let met do that…

Anyway, who knew by the end of that James would be one of my close friends all that summer. I suppose it was our sarcastic personalities and love of Mitch Hedberg that bonded us. He even ended up being a groomsman in our wedding :)

A couple of weekends ago we got to go down to hang out with James and Clare in Austin. You might remember Clare from when she came to OKC to get her letterpress. These two are seriously two of the most fun, most interesting, and coolest people we are friends with. I mean, I think it is good that we became friends in our youth because they’re totally way out of our league. ;) But they’re also two of the most kind, most gracious and most loving people we know, too. The type of people that we can go months and months with out talking to each other, but then pick up and get deep with each other right off the bat. Which is probably what makes them so great at their job with Campus Crusade for Christ.

I really wanted to take pictures of them because Clare has started a letterpress company named after the Carriage House they used to live in. I LOVED that, and wanted to capture some images for her in front of companies namesake. And get some of her little print shop, too :) You should go check out Clare and her work at Carriage House Design┬áCompany. She is a super talented designer, artist & printer. I’m so excited to be having her do some printing for me!

Love you guys, so so much, and so blessed that we get be a part of your cool life :) xoxoely

The third shot is magical – looks like one that would be in a magazine.

Also love the straddled-scooter shot. It’s sexy and tasteful at the same time! If that were me I’d hang that one up in my bedroom.
