Alas! The anticipated Cassie and Jason wedding post!
Cassie majored in graphic design with me at OSU (go pokes!), and I have been looking forward to photographing her wedding from day one when she asked me to. For the obvious reasons- one: Florida. Two: She’s a sweet friend. But the third: she is a fantastic designer, and has great dedication to detail and organization. She was always the one that reminded me when we had sketch deadlines in class, or when it had been canceled for the day– pretty much took care of me in college. :)
I had been hearing for months about the fun little things she was designing for the wedding, and all the special things she was doing. So I’ve was very excited to photograph this one for a multitude of reasons, and I am very excited to share!
Cassie’s parents drove a U-haul from Oklahoma to Florida with all of the wedding decor, including the supplies for this bamboo pergola. And then built it when they got here. Can you believe that?? Cassie is one loved girl.
Cassie LOVES color. And she used it beautifully throughout the wedding. I thought her paper flower centerpieces were perfect because she was able to prepare them ahead of time to send in the U-Haul with her parents– all the way from Oklahoma…they are saints!
I really loved the sand dollar guest book that she did. Guests signed the sand dollars and put it into the glass jar, and Cassie and Jason will keep it as decoration in their house.

One of my favorite stories from the wedding is the Peanut Story. Apparently, when Cassie and Jason started dating, they had a running joke of hiding a peanut at each others places. And then once one of them found it, they’d hide it at the others. Well, Jason had hid it for Cassie the last time months before the wedding. So when she found it, she kept it and saved so she could put it in his jar for the sand ceremony. He was so surprised, and their laughter was infectious when he saw it drift through the sand. I thought it was such a sweet and thoughtful touch.

Cassie, I love you, and am so happy for you. Jason– welcome to the GD (graphic design) family.

Cassie & Jason your wedding was absolutely GORGEOUS! I found your photos here from Lynn @ CayPointe Villa because we too are getting married at CayPointe Villa in January 2011. We are already so excited for our special day there in FL but seeing your photos have made us even MORE excited, honestly didn’t think it was possible! I had some questions about items you used for the wedding that I would LOVE to ask you if it is possible for you to email me privately at KLP0822@aol.com.
Congratulations on a beautiful wedding, an even more beautiful marriage and future to you both!
Best,
